Dr Muizzu said earlier that the agreement for the project would be signed on Saturday, 14 November 2015.
He said that Maldivian government’s preparations for the construction, set to begin at the end of this month, have been completed.
This includes the inclusion of the portion of the project to be financed by the Maldivian government, in the Projected State Budget for 2016.
Assessments required before construction begins have been completed, and a sketch of the design of the bridge was shown to media recently.
