Fire has started on a diving boat in Maduvvari lagoon

A strong fire has started on a diving boat inside the M. Madduvvari lagoon.

Police said that there was an expatriate on board when the fire started and that he has been saved with minor injuries.

The man is now being treated at M. Dhiggaru Health Center.

A Councilor from the island said that the fire was on a 50 feet diving boat used by Medhufushi Resort.

Police said that the deck of the boar suffered extensive fire damage.

The fire has now been extinguished by the effort from the Dhiggaru Police Station and the public.
