The security staff of the Parliament has been ordered not to attend to their duties.
Parliament Administration’s Ahmed Mohamed told Sun Media today that aside from the Sargent at Arms of the Parliament Security, 22 of the security staff has been ordered not to attend to their duties until notified. But he did not say as to why the decision was made.
When asked why it was decided so, he said that “My superiors ordered me to tell them (the security staff) that order.”
Ahmed Mohamed said that the MNDF is currently in charge of the security at the Parliament.
The staff under the Sargent at Arms was assigned in the last session of the Parliament to handle security at the Parliament.
Before that, the Parliament Security was under the MNDF.
