Parking prohibited near Muleeaage

Parking has been prohibited on the roads around the president’s official residence, Muleeaage.

This follows the discovery of an explosive device attached to a vehicle outside the building two days ago.

The bomb was removed from the area and defused by Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

Parking Prohibited boards were put up in the area by police on Wednesday night. Vehicles parked in the area have been moved elsewhere.

Although President Abdulla Yameen does not reside at Muleeaage, it is often used for official meetings.
