Lawyer: Adheeb was questioned about his whereabouts

Vice President Ahmed Adheeb’s lawyer, Hussain Shameem has said that the Police have started questioning the Vice President and it was regarding his whereabouts.

Talking to the press at Mookia Suites tonight, Lawyer Shameem said that the Vice President was asked about his whereabouts on three days.

Lawyer Shameem said that the questioning has begun in the investigation of the explosion on board the Presidential Launch began at 1:30 p.m. today and ended at about 4 p.m.

“Starting at 1:30 up to around 4 in the evening, the questioning went on. The Police were very good, they gave us the opportunity. To say what we wanted to say. The things in the investigation went very well.” Shameem said.

He said that the Vice President Adheeb shared all the information the investigation team needed today. And by the end, the investigation team said that the questioning would be held on another day as well.

Shameem said that the Police have been unable to show any connection between the Vice President and the Presidential Launch explosion. And he said that the Vice President assures that he had no involvement in the incident.

Lawyer Shameem said that the Vice President is ready to cooperate in the future as well.

Speaking about the President’s address to the nation yesterday, Shameem said that Vice President did not do anything without the knowledge of President Abdulla Yamin.

Shameem said that the Vice President has done everything the President has asked of him so far and in the future, Vice President Adheeb would continue to do so.
