Special Operations (SO) officers and a forensic team from the Police entered the house this afternoon to search the residence. Police searched the house for about three hours before leaving with some confiscated items. It is unclear what was taken from the house. The journalists on scene saw the Police take items in two forensic bags out of the house.
When the search at M. Azzaamuge ended at dusk today, Police were patrolling the area of the house. But the roads in the area were opened. Police have searched multiple houses in the investigation of the Launch explosion.
Yesterday, President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom said that bomb making equipment was found in the houses that were searched. Vice President Ahmed Adheeb was arrested on Saturday upon his arrival to the country after his 11-day visit to China. On the day of his arrest, Police searched 11 locations and arrested three people.
