Minor arrested in suspicion of an attempted robbery

A minor who attempted to rob a saloon in Hithadhoo, Addu City has been arrested.

Police Media Official said that the minor is suspected of entering the saloon and threatened the expatriate staff with a sharp object. Police arrested a 16-year-old local boy in the case.

The expats at the saloon allegedly restrained the boy and assaulted him. There are pictures of the boy at the saloon after the attack by the expatriates circulating on social media.

But the Police said that there is no indication that any such events took place.
