Five children in Mal

Five children living in Malé City has been taken into the protection of the state.

Police Media Official told Sun Media today that five children were taken into the protection of the state on Thrusday after their parents neglected to take care of them.

“After a joint investigation by the Police and the Gender Ministry and after monitoring, the children has been taken into state protection and kept at the Kudakudhinge Hiya (Orphanage).” Police Media Official said.

The children live under poor conditions due to their parents being drug abusers. Sun Media has reported on the condition of the children previously.

The children have been living off the street begging. Sources say that the children has been under the Gender Ministry before.
