Sushma Swaraj visits President Yamin to pay respects

The Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj currently visiting the Maldives has made a visit of respect to the President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom.

Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon, Minister of the President’s Office, Mohamed Hussain Shareef and the Indian Ambassador in the Maldives Rajeev Shahare took part in the Indian External Minister’s meeting with the President.

Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj signed the official guestbook at the President’s Office on her visit. The Indian External Minister arrived in the Maldives for a meeting of the Maldives-India Joint Commission.

This is the fifth meeting of the Commission. Although the details of the meeting have not been revealed by any country, the Foreign Minister says that a press conference would be held after the meeting.

A statement from the Foreign Ministry says that the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj arrived in the Maldives on the invitation of the Foreign Minister, Dunya Maumoon.

The Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj arrived in the Maldives last November and met with high officials of the Government.
