Sewage system project at Dhiyamigili begins

The sewage system project in Th. Dhiyamigili has begun today.

At a special ceremony held at the island, the project was inaugurated by the Environment Minister, Thoriq Ibrahim.

The State Minister of the Environment Ministry, Abdul Matheen Moahemd and the MP for the Guraidhoo constituency, where Dhiyamigili is part of, Hussain Manik Dhon Manik also took part in the ceremony.

The project was awarded to Malé Water and Sewage Company (MWSC) under “Hopeful living through sewage system #Yageen” motto. The project from January 2015 to November 2016 is a MVR 28 million project.

President of the Dhiyamigili Island Council, Naahid Abbas told Sun Media today that the sewage is a serious problem to the island that the people of the island are joyous today that the project has finally begun.

Council President, Naahid said that the contractor of the project MWSC has assured that the project would be completed within a year.
