A plane from Maldivian travelling from Kaadehdhoo to Malé has returned to Kaadehdhoo due to an engine problem.
Head of Adminstration at Island Aviation, Ali Nashaath told Sun Media tonight that a Maldivian Dash-800 plane with a 50 passenger capacity returned to Kaadehdhoo after a problem arose about ten minutes into the flight.
“It is yet unclear what happened to the engine. But engineers are now working on it.” Nashaath said.
He said that Maldivian would “never take a risk” with passenger related issues.
“We would never take a risk with anything that would put a passenger in danger. So the plane immediately turned around and landed in Kaadehdhoo. All the passengers are in good condition. Now, to bring them to Malé we are preparing to send another flight.” Nashaath said.
