Man found with serious injuries in a stairwell has passed away

The man found on the sixth floor stairwell of M. Moosun Bahaaruge with serious injuries has died while under treatment at to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

Director of IGMH, Ahmed Mausoom told Sun Media tonight that the man taken to the hospital with injuries died while undergoing treatment at the Emergency Room. The man who died was 26-year-old Ahmed Zameen from Irumatheege, A.A. Thoddoo.

“The man was heavily injured when he was brought to the hospital, in serious condition. The injuries were to the back of his head.” Director Mausoom said.

He said that bleeding in the brain and lungs were found when he got scanned and x-rayed.

“Doctors confirmed his death at 11 p.m. tonight.” Director Mausoom said.

The Police Media Official previously told Sun Mediathat a man was found with injuries on the sixth floor stairwell of M. Moosun Bahaaruge. The Police said that the man had sustained major head trauma when the Police took him to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after arriving at the house following the information received.

“We don’t know how he was injured. But his head was injured.” The Official then said.

The Police are investigating the death.

With the death of Zameen, the number of people kill this year has risen to eight. The first murder in the year was the two-year-old Mohamed Ibthihaal who was found brutally killed in Rakeedhoo on 28 January.

The second murder was Jailam Ahmed Shakir who was attacked by the group on 21 February which was followed by the death of Ali Ziyadham in street violence on 21 March in L. Mundhoo. The following day, on 22 March, Shaahin Miya, a Bangladeshi expat was brutally killed inside a café at the South West Harbor of Malé City. He was killed by a group of people who were covering their faces.

The fifth murder this year took place on 29 March near IGMH where Noor Adam Hassanfulhu was attacked with a knife by two people that came on a motorcycle. And on 11 June, an expatriate was found death with multiple wounds in L. Gan. After that, on the night of 15 June, Hussain Shiyaar died at the hospital following an attack in Hithadhoo, Addu City.
