MET Office: Earthquake in the vicinity of the Maldives, no tsunami

National Meteorological Center has said that there was an earthquake in the region but there is no danger of a tsunami.

The MET Office said that the 5.0 magnitude quake hit around 1:30 p.m., 1232 kilo meters south west of the Maldives.

The closest to the quake zone was Diego Garcia. There have been no reports of any affect from the quake to them or any other country in the region.
