Maldives Coast Guard has said that they are helping the ferry of K. Huraa named Dhiraas after the vessel stalled at sea while travelling with 120 people.
Infromation Officer of MNDF, Major Adnaan Mohamed told Sun Media that the vessel’s engine stalled near Full Moon Resort and was reported to the Coast Guard at 9:18 a.m. this morning.
“46 people on board the Huraa ferry has been brought to Malé on CG (Coast Guard) Habercraft 115. We’re working to bring more people to Malé.” Major Adnaan said.
He said that aside from the CG Habercraft, CG landing craft is also assisting the ferry.
Major Adnaan said that everyone aboard is in good condition.
