Four more people have been arrested last night following the violence in Gn. Fuvahmulah that left five people injured following attacks with a sharp object. The number of people arrested in the case has now risen to 12.
Police Media Official said that while they have 12 in the case so far, one of them is a minor. And that they have three 19-year-olds, one 20-year-old, four 21-year-olds and three 20-year-olds.
Police arrested five people on the night of the attack. And later on Thursday night, they arrested three more people and arrested four more last night.
The Media Official said that the Fuvahmulah Court has added 15 days to the remand of all the eight people.
Five people who were injured in the attack. Two of them were in serious condition has been transferred to Hithadhoo Regional Hospital in Addu City. And the arrangements are being made to bring one of them to Malé City this evening. That is the one who sustained damages to the head and stomach.
Director of the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, Ali Shaah told Sun Media that although the man with the head injuries is in stable condition, he is being brought to Malé this evening because there are more tests to be done.
He said that the operation at the Hithadhoo Regional on the stomach wounds was a success and that he is recovering.
