Two ferries that exceed passenger capacity has been stopped

Police have stopped two ferries that attempted to leave from G.Dh. Thinadhoo that had exceeded their passenger capacity.

The Police Media Official said that they stopped the ferry to Nadalla and Hoadedhdhoo in the same atoll.

Police said that the ferry to Nadalla has the capacity to carry 40 passengers but they had about a 100 people on the ferry. And there were 75 people on the board the ferry to Hoadedhdhoo which has the capacity of 50 people. Police set that they let the ferry leave after 25 people came off the ferry.

The Media Official said that they found out that the ferries had exceeded their passenger capacity in an operation to check the boats safety measures.
