LTE-Advanced in Maldives by Dhiraagu for the first time in South Asia

Dhiraagu has introduced the fastest internet, LTE-Advanced Network in the Maldives for the first time in South Asia.

Compared to the 4G LTE Network, LTE-Advanced provides about four times faster internet speeds. The network allows 300 MB per second speed.

As Dhiraagu introduces the LTE-Advanced Network in the Maldives, the service is provided by 28 operators in 13 countries in the world. But there are relatively few handsets and devices that supports this network. While the recently released iPhone 6S and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 supports the LTE-Advanced, this feature is expected on the smartphones coming out in the future.

At the ceremony held at Sea House today, the Manager of Marketing, Communications and PR, Mirushan Hassan said that while mobile date has become important in the lives of every person, LTE-Advanced Network was a success to the mobile data network.

He said that although the service is currently available in the capital Malé alone, it would be available nationwide very soon.
