Naashid appointed as the Assistant Prosecutor General

Hussain Naashid has been appointed as the Assistant Prosecutor General at the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office.

Naashid was promoted to Assistant Prosecutor General from this former position of Public Prosecutor after Ahmed Hameed Fahumee resigned from the position of Assistant Prosecutor General last month.

Up to his promotion, Naashid was the head of the Appeal and Records department of the PG Office.

Naashid has been on cases of murder, terrorism and other major criminal cases.

Along with Naashid, the other Assistant Prosecutor General is the former Vice President of the Customs Integrity Commission, Jihaadha Anees.

Jihaadhaa Anees was also a long time public prosecutor prior to her promotion last July. She was the public prosecutor on the trial of Hussain Humaan who has been charged with first degree murder of Dr. Afrashim Ali.
