Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a global advertisement campaign in collaboration with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), to promote Maldives as a tourist destination.
The campaign aims to increase tourist arrivals in 2016 which will be marked as “Visit Maldives Year”, especially from Asia Pacific and Europe.
It will be in place from 1 September to 31 October 2015, and includes a 30-second advertisement under the theme “Sunny Side of Life” and four 15-second teasers, which will be shown on BBC.
Maldives will also be advertised on the BBC website during this period.
Tourist arrivals in 2015 stood at 713,622 at the end of July, an increase of 1.7 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
