President: All the islands will have 24 hour electricity no matter how small the population by the end of the term

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has said that 24 hour electricity would be available in every island, no matter how small it’s population, by the end of the five year term of this Government.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new powerhouse in R. Innamaadhoo, President Yamin said that the Government has decided to provide 24 hour electricity to all the islands no matter how small it is.

“Today our Government has decided that no matter how small, when our five years end, to guarantee 24 hour electricity in all the inhabited islands.” President Yamin said.

President Yamin noted the hard work by FENAKA Corporation improve the electricity services in all the islands and sent his gratitude to the Managing Director of the Company, Mohamed Nimaal, Chairman, Mohamed Nadheem and all their employees.

The President said the work by FENAKA Corp. is tireless and valued.

President advised all the citizens to take part in the projects that are done for the benefit of everyone.

“I want to say to all the citizens of the country, in these works done for all the citizens, if it’s opening Government pharmacies or making a port or building a powerhouse, if it’s benefiting everyone, take part in it.” President Yamin said.

He said that if a service to the people is closed, all the citizens would suffer a loss.

The Managing Director of FENAKA Corporation, Mohamed Nimaal, it’s Chairman, Mohamed Nadheem along with the MP for the Inguraidhoo constituency, Ibrahim Falaah, Managing Director of STELCO, Abdul Shukoor and the Leader of MDA, Ahmed Siyam Mohamed attended the opening ceremony of the Innamaadhoo powerhouse.
