Nazim request to leave the country for eye treatment

The former Defense Minister, Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim who is currently serving out an 11-year prison sentence has made a request to leave the country for an eye treatment.

Nazim’s brother, Adam Azim told Sun Media today that Nazim’s eye condition is serious and so a request has been made on Thursday since the doctors have advised to go abroad for treatment.

“It’s very bad. Doctors say that if we don’t go abroad and treat it soon, it could affect his vision.” Azim said.

He said that the local doctors cannot treat and doesn’t know what is wrong with it.

The former Defense Minister was also treated in Singapore earlier in the year after he was sentenced to 11 years in prison on 27 March.

Colonel-retired Nazim was convicted of possession of a firearm.
