Commissioner of Police, Hussain Waheed has said that no one wants to know what happened to the missing Minivan News journalist, Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla as much as the Police do.
Speaking at a meeting at Shaheed Hussain Adam Building with a senior team of the Maldives Media Council who wanted the latest updates on the missing journalist, Commissioner Waheed said that the Police are working sincerely in the case of the missing journalist. And he said that the fact that some people are using it as a political is very disheartening.
In the meeting with the Maldives Media Council, Commissioner of Police assured Council that there has been not stall in the investigation of Rilwan’s disappearance and in the search for him.
Commissioner Waheed said that a lot of work is being done in the search and the investigation of the missing journalist. And so they have been reviewing the information they have received previously, research the video footages and they are following the information regarding the case.
In a previous statement from the Police regarding the missing journalist, the Police said that 387 people were question in the case and the statements of 128 people have been taken.
Police said that they have canvased the flats and 77 apartments around the apartment where Rilwan lived. They said that they have reviewed 1235 hours of video footage from 157 at 79 different places in Hulhumalé.
