The MVR 2.5 million received for the Nepal Relief Fund has been delivered to Nepal

MVR 2.5 million received for the Nepal Relief Fund organized by the Maldivian Red Crescent and the Maldives Medical Association from 26 April to 14 June has been delivered to the Nepalese Red Crescent in the wake of the earthquake.

A statement from the Maldivian Red Crescent today said that the money sent over the course of two transfers has been completed last Tuesday.

They said that the Nepalese Red Crescent sends their gratitude to the Maldivian People for their help in aiding those in need. And as the Maldivian Red Crescent has requested, the money would be used to provide shelter to those who lost their homes in the disaster.

The Maldivian Red Crescent said that MVR 1.8 million of the 2.5 million raised for the fund was through the six hour telethon held by the media across the country.
