Eight people arrested in the Fuvahmulah prostitution case have been released

Eight out of the 20 people arrested in Fuvahmulah for forcing two children into prostitution.

Police Media Official confirmed to Sun Media tonight that eight people have been released in the case.

The official said that they were released because there was no need to continue the investigation with them in custody. He said that they were released two weeks ago.

The Media Official said that while eight people have been released, the remand of the 12 remaining people have been extended by 15 days.

The Police have previously said that there were people outside of Fuvahmulah among the people arrested in the child prostitution case.

Sources say that there are famous businessmen of the island involved in the prostitution of the 14 and 16-year-old girls.

Sun Media has confirmed that a large number of people were involved in the immoral acts of giving drugs to the girls, forcing them into prostitution, taking pictures and videos and blackmailing them.
