President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom has sent wishes of progress and happiness to the people of India.

In separate letters to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee and the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 60th Independence Day of India, President Yamin He has also expressed his confidence that ties of friendship and understanding that exist between the Maldives and India will continue to strengthen in the coming years.

While President Yamin extended the felicitations of Indian Independence Day, Foreign Minister Dhunya Maumoon also sent her well wishes on the occasion of the Independence Day.
