Fishing Marathon of MVR 10,000 begins in Veymandoo

On the occasion of the Youth Day, a Fishing Marathon has begun in Th. Veymandoo with the prize money of MVR 10,000.

President of the Veymandoo Island Council, Abdulla Mufeed said that the fishing marathon hosted by the Veymandoo Police, Island Council and the youth of the island would be held from 1 – 9 p.m. today.

“If anyone fishes one of the fishes banned by the government in this competition, that boat would be disqualified.” The President of the Island Council said.

While 95 people are taking part in ten boats, the island says that the purpose of the competition is to build friendship on the island.
