Fountain reopens after repairs

The fountain opened at the Republic Square on the occasion of the country’s 50th Independence Day has been reopened after repairs.

The fountain was reopened sometime yesterday morning.

CEO of MTCC, Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem told Sun Media today that the fountain was opened after some repairs.

“We closed that place (fountain) because some of the lights were broken when children entered the monument at fountain to play and pulled some of the fires. But now all those repairs have been completed and we have reopened.” Haleem said.

A railing has been set at the monument area of the fountain because children tend to go inside.

The water fountain made by MTCC is 28 meters long and 28 meters wide. The fountain is a monument to the friendship in the country and is designed so that people can go in and enjoy inside it along with a sitting area.
