A photo exhibition on Maldivian history has been opened

A photo exhibition has been opened with 3000 pictures displaying historic events of the country including old pictures.

The exhibition at the National Art Gallery was opened at 5 p.m. today by the President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom and the First Lady, Fathimath Ibrahim.

President Abdulla Yamin explored the exhibition after the opening ceremony.

The Photo exhibition was opened by Billabong International School’s Kangaroo Kids run by Islander’s Education as part of the Golden Jubilee Independence Day celebrations.

The exhibition displays an array of pictures from old mosques and monuments in Malé City, old pictures of Hulhumalé to tourism pictures, news articles from old new papers, sports and vessels.

Photos include visits of foreign dignitaries and pictures of major political protests that have taken place in the Maldives.

The Photo Exhibition would be opened today from 5 – 9 p.m. And tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
