Police: No arrests have been made in the case of the child found dead in Thulhaadhoo

Maldives Police Service has said that no arrests have been made regarding the infant found dead in B. Thulhaadhoo five days ago.

The still born out of wedlock was found in the drainage at the toilet, according to doctors, in less than 48 hours after the 18-year-old mother prematurely gave birth to the baby in seven months.

Police Media Official told Sun Media that they have a special team in Thulhaadhoo still conducting an investigation and there have been no arrests made so far.

The still born was brought to Malé for a medical examination and has been buried.

Thulhaadhoo Island Council has said that the baby was a still born and the people of the island knew she was pregnant only after she gave birth.

The people of the island are making accusations that the 18-year-old girl had the baby with a foreigner who was her lover.
