Fined for not investigating a sexual harassment

Baker’s Fantasy has been fined with MVR 5,000 for not looking into a sexual harassment claim.

The verdict from the Employment Tribunal on 8 July ordered Baker’s Fantasy to pay the fine within ten days to the Tribunal.

The case against Baker’s Fantasy was brought to the Tribunal by their Assistant Manager, Mohamed Mauroof.

He submitted the case after Baker’s Fantasy refused to investigate after one of their female employee Aiminath Haifa sent a “topless” picture claiming it was a picture to be printed for a cake order from her email to the Assistant Manager’s email in the knowledge that it would be received by the Assistant Manager Mauroof.
