Police are making preparations to bring the infant baby who was found dead today in B. Thulhaadhoo, who born out of wedlock, to Malé City.
Police Media Official said that they are making the preparations to bring the baby to Malé for a forensic investigation.
The death of the child born out of wedlock is being investigation by Family and Child Protection Department of the Police and by another team in the island.
There have been no arrests made in the case so far.
It is yet unclear as to the cause of the death of the baby given birth by the 18-year-old. Rumors in the island the people of the island were not aware that she was pregnant when she gave birth. And they got the news of her birth very recently.
Sources say that the 18-year-old girl was seven months along when she gave birth in the bathroom in her home in the island, at around 9:00 a.m. this morning.
Thulhaadhoo Council Vice President Ahmed Rasheed said that no one knew the girl was pregnant until she gave birth, and the baby was a stillborn.
