94 people penalized for violating vehicle ban

94 individuals have been penalized for violating the temporary ban on vehicles.

Police report that they had given warning to 1,967 people during the time determined by

Transport Ministry as “no driving time” in order to provide the opportunity for as many people as possible to participate in Independence Day celebrations.

A ban on vehicles had been imposed from 5 pm to 8 pm on Monday and police report that they penalized 94 individuals during the time; 61 of them from whom their licenses had been confiscated from.

Police said that 16 individuals had been caught driving after their licenses had been confiscated, while 17 – including a minor - had been caught driving without license.

Transport Authority has announced that vehicles will be banned from 5 pm to 10 pm on Tuesday as well.
