Snow scheduled to fall on Male

Floats had previously served only as something enjoyable to look at and take photographs of. Maldives Airports Limited (MACL) is, however, ready to revolutionize the whole nature of floats by introducing a float that is set to help people of the tropical island of Maldives the whole new experience of snow.

The float made by MACL will make it snow on the streets of Male’ on Tuesday during the parade to mark the 50th anniversary of independence.

MACL fuel service general manager Mohamed Niyaz, who is head of managing the float made by the company, informed Sun Online on Monday that the float will make artificial snow measuring 12 degree Celsius fall on the streets on Male’.

“The float will be making snow fall on streets of Male’ from one end to the other, snow will fall on all streets the float will be making its way through, the snow wont melt for a good 20 minutes,” said Niyaz.

According to Niyaz, the 250 feet long float will be based on the popular cartoon Frozen and will make its turn through Male’ with its beloved characters on board.

“You will see all Frozen characters and main objects from our float,” said Niyaz.

Deputy Home Minister Ahmed Saleem (Maaz Saleem) who is working as head in organizing the parade informed Sun Online on Monday that the parade will start at 8 pm Tuesday night.

The 33 floats are scheduled to make its way through Majeedhee Magu, Sosun Magu, and Bodu Thakurufaan Magu.

“The floats will have special historic as well as modern characteristics embodied in that that will be different from previous (floats),” said Saleem.

The floats will make a stop near the Exercise Park located in Bodu Thakurufaanu Magu and people will have the opportunity to climb on board and take photographs, said Saleem.
