Presidents Nasir and Maumoon receives the Honorary Shield of 50th Independence

The state has awarded two former presidents, Ibrahim Nasir and Maumoon Abdul Gayoom an Honorary Shield of Independence.

The shields were awarded by President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom at the special Independence Day function. The Honorary Shield for President Ibrahim Nasir was received by his grandson, Ibrahim Ahmed Nasir.

The services of the former President Ibrahim Nasir include the construction of an international airport, introduction of telecommunication services and tourism to the country.
