A woman has been injured in H. Dh. Neykurendhoo while cutting down a palm tree to rebuild a replica of the vessel used by Utheemu Boduthakurufaanu who fought and won the independence of the country.
President of the Neykurendhoo Council, Mohamed Sizaan told Sun Media today that the incident took place in the area permitted by the Home Ministry to cut down a palm tree. And the incident happened when the tree that cut down hit another tree and when that tree fell.
He said that a 29-year-old woman was injured in the incident.
“One of the two people who were collecting palm leaves in the area got injured.” Neykurendhoo Council President, Sizaan said.
The Neykurendhoo Council President said that the woman was treated at the Neykurendhoo Health Center and was moved to Kulhudhuffushi for further treatment.
“Not much injury are visible on the outside. But after further treatment only would we know if something happened, yes?” Sizaan said.
Neykurendhoo is now building the building hall to build the “Kalhuofunmi.”
