Dignitaries from six countries arrive for the Independence Day

Dignitaries from six different countries have arrived to take part in the Golden Jubilee Independence celebrations of the Maldives.

The dignitaries arrived today are:

- Minister of Civil Service Affairs of Mauritius, HE Alain Wong Yen Cheong

- Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, HE Madam Shen Yueyue

- Minister of State and Frontier Regions of Pakistan, HE General-retired Abdul Qadir Baloch

- Minister of Health of India, HE Mr. JP. Nadda

- State Minister/Member of the Cabinet and Counselor of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, His Royal Highness, Prince Dr. Mansour bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia

- Private Secretary for the Vice Minister of Japan, Mr. Shintaro Nakagawa

Among the dignitaries arrived today, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, HE Madam Shen Yueyue was welcomed by the Maldivian Foreign Minister, Dhunyaa Maumoon and Ibrahim Nasir International Airport. And while the Indian Health Minister was greeted by the Maldivian Health Minister, Iruthishan Adam, the Civil Service Affairs Minister of Mauritius and Saudi Prince Dr. Mansour bin Abdulaziz was greeted by Ambassador-at-Large, Abdulla Hameed. And the Foreign Minister of Pakistan was greeted at the airport by the Foreign Secretary, Dr. Ali Naseer.

Among the foreign dignitaries to arrive for the Independence Day celebrations, President of Sri Lanka, HE Mr. Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to arrive sometime tomorrow.
