A Maldivian who attempted to go to Syrian war through Thailand has been brought back to Maldives

A Maldivian man who attempted to go to Syria to through Thailand to take part in the conflict has been brought back to the Maldives.

Sources say that the man was brought back to the country last Tuesday. And two Immigration Officers from Thailand also came back with him. The man has been brought to Malé City has the Police have started their investigation.

According to sources, after the man was brought back from an attempt to join a foreign war, the Police are giving him counseling as well.

While a man has been brought back to the country during his attempt to join a foreign war, Police have started checking flights for people leaving for the Syrian war.

The Commissioner of Police, Hussain Waheed has previously said that it is a national concern that people are leaving the country to join a foreign war. And that step has to be taken immediately if the Police receive information about someone leaving the country for such a purpose after looking into it through Police Intelligence.

The Commissioner of Police has said that they estimate over 50 Maldives fighting in foreign wars.
