Road construction permits halted temporarily

Housing Ministry has decided to halt construction permits and other permits for work on the roads for four days for the upcoming Golden Jubilee Independence Day.

The Housing Ministry said on Thursday that since there are a lot of activities going through 24 – 28 July on the occasion of 50 years of national independence, they have decided not to issue permits for constructions and other work that requires roads to be blocked.

And after those four days, permits would be issuing would go back to normal.

While Malé City is being decorated with lights and new colours to celebrate 50 years of national independence, the Housing Ministry has also begun a lot of projects including planting flower plants in different areas of the city and water fountains.
