Reeko Moosa: Penal Code must be implemented fairly, to complete criminal justice system

Deputy Speaker of Parliament Reeko Moosa Manik has said that the Penal Code must be implemented fairly, to achieve a complete criminal justice system.

On Twitter yesterday, Moosa said, “The Penal Code coming into effect alone does not complete the criminal justice system. To achieve this, it must also be implemented fairly.”

Moosa added that the enforcement of the new Penal Code will guarantee the rights of the people prescribed in the Constitution.

The new Penal Code came into effect yesterday.
