First successful brain tumor removing surgery in the Maldives

A brain tumor has been removed successfully for the first time in the Maldives.

Sharing the details of the surgery done on 4 July at ADK Hospital, private hospital in Malé, the Managing Director of ADK Hospital, Ahmed Affaal told Sun Media that the procedure was done by all Maldivian doctors.

Dr. Ali Niyaaf, Dr. Abdulla Ubaid and Dr. Ibrahim Moomin took part in the surgery.

MD. Affaal said that the tumor on was completely removed in procedure that was done on the 47-year-old woman. And there have been no problems since the surgery.

He said that the usual problems after the surgery such as speech impairment and facial paralysis have not appeared in the patient.
