Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started investigating the Office established to organize the festivities for the 50th anniversary of national independence to see if there is any illegal activity in their work.
President of ACC Muaviz Rasheed told Sun Media today that members of the ACC have met with the officials of the 50th-Independence Office to begin the investigation.
He said that the Finance Ministry and the Home Ministry have made a request at the ACC to look at the proceedings of the office.
President Muaviz said that they may have to check the office a number of times but would not be going there every day.
He said that if any activity by the 50th-Independence Office going outside the law, they would be asked to correct it.
