Fareedh appeals his death sentence for the murder of Shuhaadh

Hassan Fareedh has appealed his dead sentence for the murder of Abdulla Shuhaadh.

His case was sent to the Criminal Court for appeal on 3 June. And the Criminal Court sent the paperwork for appeal to the High Court on 9 June.

The verdict on Fareedh from the Criminal Court says that state’s witness testimonies proves to the court that on the night of 27 January 2010, around 9:30 p.m., Fareedh and some others went to the junction of Bodufannu Magu and Bahaaru Magu at Dhudigan, Fuvahmulah and stabbed the knife on his right hand to the side of the chest of Shuhaadh who was sitting on the wall of an abandoned house in the area.

Shuhaadh died while he was being treated for stab wounds on the night of 28 January 2010.
