World Bank donates computers, printers to five hospitals

The World Bank has donated computers and printers to five hospitals in the Maldives.

The donation was handed over to the hospitals at a ceremony at State Electric Company (STELCO) on Thursday night, by Minister of Health Iruthisham Adam.

The hospitals that received the computers and printers are Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, Gan Regional Hospital, Gaafu Dhaalu Thinadhoo Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital, Ungoofaru Regional Hospital, and Seenu Hithadhoo Regional Hospital.

Speaking at the ceremony, Iruthisham Adam thanked the World Bank for the donation and said that the computers would help the hospitals in more efficient maintenance of records.

CEO of National Protection Social Agency (NSPA) Mujthaba Jaleel said that continuous efforts are ongoing by the government to improve the health sector.

He said that the aim is to make sure that the priority given to the health sector by President Abdulla is reflected in the efforts by the institutions, and to ensure that the policies are fully implemented.
