Nihaan: If the VP is being changed, the position must go to Adheeb

President of the PPM’s Parliamentary Group, Ahmed Nihaan Hussain Manik has said that if the Vice President is going to change, the position must be given to the Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Adheeb.

Speaking on DhiTV’s Khabaru Therein (Inside News) program, Nihaan said that a large number of youth and the people want Adheeb as the Vice President.

“If there is going to be any change to the deputy of the President, the perfect and the strongest candidate, I seriously believe that it should be given to Ahmed Adheeb.” Nihaan said.

Nihaan praised the Tourism Minister very much on last night’s program. He said that as the Minister and the Co-chair of the Economic and Youth Council, there is no political picture where Adheeb cannot be seen.

“In President Yamin’s accomplishment, especially in finance, in the Party’s work, not a day goes by without Adheeb’s contribution and work.” Nihaan said.

Nihaan said that Adheeb becoming the Vice President is a good omen to President Yamin’s success in 2018.

He said that Adheeb has a crucial role in PPM’s victory in the by-elections. And his involvement it huge in the party campaigns and events.

In last night’s program, Nihaan criticized the current Vice President, Dr. Mohamed Jameel Ahmed. Nihaan said that Dr. Jameel worked hard during the elections and even worked hard a “few days” after the elections.

“I didn’t see him (Dr. Jameel) even close to my expectation, see him defend the government, the president and didn’t see him defend the government and President Yamin from the attacks coming in different directions.” Nihaan said.

Nihaan said that Dr. Jameel failed the social works and health works assigned to him by the government.

An amendment has been presented to the Parliament to change the age of the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates to ages between 30 – 65 years.

Some of the members of the PPM’s Parliamentary group has said that the change is being brought to give the VP post to Adheeb.

Voting of bill has been set on the agenda at the Parliament session tomorrow.
