Resort employment program opens

Applications have been opened for the government’s program to train young people for the tourism sector.

The application for the STEP apprenticeship program by the Youth, Tourism and Education Ministry would be open till 22 July starting today. The program is scheduled to begin in September.

The qualifications for application for the one year program are completion of Grade 7 and fluency in English.

A batch of youth was trained under the program in the past.

STEP program takes students to be trained in resorts and gets hired when they graduate. Total 10 resorts take part in the program.
