STO drops prices on onions and potatoes

State Trading Organization (STO) has dropped the prices on onions and potatoes for the holy month of Ramadan.

STO said that starting tomorrow, a sack of onions being sold for MVR 250 would sold for MVR 220. And while a kilo of onions was sold for MVR 12, it would be sold for MVR 10 starting tomorrow.

The price of a sack of onions on the market is between MVR 350-320 while a kilo is for MVR 18.

STO has also decided that starting tomorrow; a sack of potatoes being sold for MVR 250 would be sold for MVR 180 while a kilo of potatoes would be sold for MVR 9 replacing the former price of MVR 12.

A sack of potato today on the market is for MVR 300 while a kilo is for MVR 12.

Although the price of onions and potatoes is being dropped, the price of eggs remains at MVR 270 while a single egg is for MVR 1.50. While the price for a box of eggs is being sold for MVR 600 on the market.
