Imran, Ameen and Sobah charged with terrorism

President of Adhaalth Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla, Deputy Leader of JP, Ameen Ibrahim and JP’s Foreign and Public Relations, Sobah Rasheed has been charged with terrorism.

They were charged with terrorism for encouraging conflict and supporting confrontation with the security forces in their speech at the opposition rally on 1 May.

Sources say cases of all three were sent to the Criminal Court today.

During their questioning after their arrest Ameen and Sobah exercised their constitutional right to remain silent. But Sheikh Imran gave his testimony to the Police.

Speaking to the press right after his release from Police custody, Sheikh Imran said that he has never supported conflict or threaten anyone.

He said that he always calls for peace.
