Saeed: Current government has no debts

Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed has said that the current government does not have any debts.

Speaking at a campaign event for Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) candidate for Dhiggaru, Faris Maumoon, Saeed said that the first task undertaken by President Yameen when he assumed office was to clear all state debts.

He said that the Maldives is making great progress in economic world ratings, which means it has more opportunities – which were lost because previous governments were negligent on minor issues.

Maldives can be like Singapore, and President Yameen was working to make this hope a reality, said Saeed.

He also said that opposition parties were criticising the bridge project, but the government will make this dream come true for Maldivians.
