Three people burned in a fire at Niyama resort

Three people have been injured in a fire at Niyaam Resort in Dh. Atoll.

The incident took place while cleaning the tanks where petrol and diesel are stored on the island.

The three people who were burned in the fire was taken to Kudahuvadhoo hospital.

Ismail Shareef, who is in charge of the Kudahuvadhoo hospital told Sun Media that out of the three people who were burned in the Niyama fire, one person is in serious condition.

Shareef said that 35 percent of his body was burned. His hands and legs were burned and his face sustained some injuries as well.

He said that the condition of the other two is not too serious.

Among the people injured in the fire, a person was taken to the Kudahuvadhoo hospital with a fractured leg.

The four people injured in the fire at Niyama are not resort staff but the staff of the oil barge providing fuel to the island.
