Borehole work has begun today at sea to conduct the necessary research the bridge between Male’ and Hulhule’.
Minister of Housing, Dr. Mohamed Muiz tweeted today confirming that the bore hole work has begun today and that the channel would be closed for large ships until 15 June.

The borehole drilling for the bridge project was inaugurated last Wednesday.
Speaking at the ceremony near the Tsunami Monument, Dr. Muiz said that a total of 29 boreholes would be drilled on land and sea for the project.
Minister said that a detailed design would be presented next month and the tendering would begin in China. The construction is expected to start at the end of the year.
On the same night, speaking on TVM’s Raaje Miadhu program, Dr. Muiz said that important surveys for the bridge are being conducted now. And so the borehole drilling that has started would move forward.
The bridge between Male’ And Hulhule’ and connecting with Hulumale’ has been promised by the former President,
